Chatham-Kent, Ontario: On December 14, 2023, at 9:46 p.m., emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Allison Line between Charing Cross Road and Erieau Road in Harwich Township.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the vehicle with four occupants. Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle travelled northeast on Allison Line when the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof.
A 16-year-old woman and two 17-year-old women were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and the name of the deceased will not be released at this time out of respect for the family’s privacy.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this young woman, as well as to everyone impacted by this tragic collision.
