The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 211 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested. One on outstanding warrants.
Police Investigating a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision CK23025042
Last night around 9:55 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on McNaughton Ave at Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. The collision involved a car and a semi tanker truck.
The driver, a 23-year-old Wallaceburg woman was driving a vehicle containing four other occupants on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. The vehicle entered onto McNaughton Ave and struck a tractor trailer which was northbound on McNaughton Ave.
The driver, along with a 24-year-old Wallaceburg man and a 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman, who were passengers, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 25-year-old Dover Township woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a London hospital in critical condition. The fourth passenger, a 22-year-old Wallaceburg woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Suspicious vehicle lead to Impaired and breach of release arrest Lagoon Road Blenheim CK23024949
A young male was approached by a vehicle with two young men in it at Lagoon Road in Blenheim. The interaction worried the young male and the police were contacted. The suspicious vehicle was located and two men spoken to. The two men were on conditions not to be around each other and placed under arrest and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters. Further investigation found the driver had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was charged with Dangerous driving, operation impaired-80 plus and failing to comply with recognizance. A future court date of June 5,2023
The passenger was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance and released with a future court date of June 12, 2023.
The interaction with the young male is still under investigation.
Weapons call Canal Street Tilbury CK2302503
The Chatham-Kent Police received a call for a man walking down Canal Street East Tilbury with a handgun. The man left the area and returned 20 minutes later. The second time the complainant heard several shots. The area was contained and located the man in an apartment in the area. The man was arrested without incident and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters. The gun involved in the incident was located and found to be an air pistol.
The man was charged with Possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose and released with a future court date of June 12,2023.
