Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 163 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Man Arrested for Domestic-Related Assault (CK24054657)
On October 27th, 2024, at approximately 9:58 p.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic dispute in the area of St. Clair Street, Chatham. Upon arrival, officers determined that a verbal argument between a man and his common-law partner had escalated significantly over the course of the evening, and that one of the involved parties had contacted police for assistance. Further investigation into the matter revealed their argument to have turned violent at one point, when the man assaulted the woman by pushing her into the wall and throwing her to the ground. As a result of the altercation, police arrested the 62-year-old Chatham man for one count of Assault. He was ultimately transported to police headquarters for processing, where he was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court (CK24054682)
On June 18th, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service charged a woman with Mischief Under $5000 after she had damaged a glass window at a business in the Downtown Chatham area. Following her arrest, the woman was released on an Undertaking with a future court date, however, she failed to attend court as required. As such, a warrant was issued for her arrest. On October 28th, 2024, at approximately 1:58 a.m., police on general patrol located the 31-year-old woman on Church Street in Chatham. She was subsequently arrested on the strength of this outstanding warrant, and later released on an Appearance Notice compelling her back to court at a later date.
