Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK23012542
At 11:27 p.m., police responded to a break and enter a restaurant on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
The man opened the drive-thru window and climbed in. The man was confronted by employees but continued to look for money. Police arrived and located the man still inside the restaurant.
The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of April 17, 2023.
Man Arrested for Obstructing Police CK23012562
On March 15, 2023, at 3:10 a.m., police responded to a suspicious person investigation on Seventh Line West in Raleigh Township. Police received information the man was observed walking near a commercial business.
Police arrived and located the man walking on the 401 overpass on Bloomfield Road wearing a scarf covering his face. The man attempted to hide his identity by providing a false name. It was learned the man was bound by conditions of a release order, including being inside his residence between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. and not possessing any break-and-enter tools.
Upon incident to arrest, the man was searched, and items such as an angle grinder, hack saw, bolt cutter and metal cutting disks were found.
The 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with obstructing police, wearing a disguise with intent, possessing break-in tools and two counts of breaching a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
