Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 222 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24043032
At 12:09 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on O’Neill Line in Morpeth.
Officers learned a verbal altercation between the woman and the man escalated when the woman pushed the man.
The 64-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of October 1, 2024. She has been charged with assault.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24043049
At 1:36 p.m., police responded to a break and enter on Esterville Road in Dresden. The suspect was believed to be still on the property.
Officers arrived on the scene and conducted a search of the property. Police located the man, known to the homeowner, hiding and arrested him. Upon arrest the man provided a false name. The homeowner’s house and car keys were located on the man during a search incident to arrest.
The 37-year-old Ridgetown man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of September 23, 2024. He has been charged with obstructing a peace officer and break and enter.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24043173
On September 4, 2024, at 12:36 a.m., police attended King Street East in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Officers located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a December 2022 drug trafficking investigation.
The 42-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a new court date of October 9, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
