Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man and Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK24002007
On January 14, 2024, at 5:40 a.m., police responded to Charteris Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, the police located the man and the woman. Officers confirmed the man was bound by an undertaking with a condition prohibiting him from communicating with the woman. Officers also confirmed the woman did not live at the address and attended of her own accord, knowing the man was on condition not to communicate with her.
The 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
The 45-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach of an undertaking. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of February 12, 2024.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24002046/CK24002067
At 1:08 p.m., police responded to a laundromat on King Street East in Chatham for a man harassing customers. Officers attended and issued a Provincial Offences Notice to the man under the Trespass to Property Act.
At 4:18 p.m., the man returned and continued to harass customers, interfering with the regular operation of the business. Police attended and arrested the man.
The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of February 26, 2024.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK24002095
At 8:23 p.m., police responded to Tim Hortons on Lacroix Street to check the well-being of a woman who had been in the washroom for an extended time.
Officers attended and located the woman. Officers confirmed she was wanted on outstanding warrants resulting from several investigations.
The 39-year-old Chatham woman faces the following charges: failing to attend court, theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK240021123
On January 15, 2024, at 3:04 a.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Part Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, the officer learned the woman passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with breach of a probation order. She was released with a future court date of February 26, 2024.
