Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 155 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Breaching a Probation Order CK23061410
On November 29, 2023, at 9:18 p.m., police responded to a Fifth Street home in Chatham for a threat investigation.
Police learned the man entered the building and began threatening tenants. The man was not a resident of the building. The man left before police arrival but was identified by tenants.
Officers confirmed the man was bound by a probation order with a condition prohibiting him from attending that address.
On November 30, 2023, at 12:12 p.m., the man was located at the Fifth Street address and arrested.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 8, 2024.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23061476
At 11:56 a.m., officers responded to Thomas Avenue in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers learned the man involved in the disturbance was bound by a probation order and two release orders with conditions. The conditions prohibited him from being at any place known to the woman and being in Chatham-Kent unless for specific reasons. The man left before police arrived but was found walking on Lawrence Avenue, a short distance away.
Officers also confirmed there were several warrants related to other bail violations.
The 30-year-old Florence man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Threats CK23061481
At 1:15 p.m., police responded to Murray Street in Chatham for a threat investigation.
Through investigation, the officer discovered the woman was yelling at another person and told them she would kill them. The woman left before police arrived but was located walking on Murray Street, a short distance away.
The 47-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with uttering threats. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 8, 2024.
Man arrested for Bail Violations CK23061550.
The courts released the man with conditions prohibiting him from leaving his home between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and required him to wear a GPS ankle monitor.
On November 30, 2023, at 7:31 p.m., the monitor showed the man in Blenheim after his curfew and returning to his Chatham Township home later in the evening. The monitoring company alerted the police of the bail violation.
On December 1, 2023, at 12:19 a.m., police attended the man’s home in Chatham Township and arrested him.
The 39-year-old Chatham Township man was charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
