The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 213 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Thirteen people were arrested. Seven people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK21047238
On May 19, 2021 the woman was released from custody with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that she was to notify police of any change of address and not to communicate with a specific Bothwell man.
Yesterday morning, police attended the man’s home for an unrelated matter. At this time, police learned that the woman had been living with the man since the summer.
The 30-year-old woman was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions. She was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of October 29, 2021.
Woman Found Driving Contrary to Release Conditions CK21047281
On July 23, 2021 the woman was released from Court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was not to have control of a motor vehicle.
Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol observed the woman driving in Chatham. A traffic stop was initiated and the woman was arrested. A search incident to arrest found the woman to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.
The 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Fails to Comply with Probation Order CK21047359
On August 4, 2020 the man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend the home of his ex-girlfriend in Chatham.
Last night, police received information that the man was observed at the woman’s home.
Officers located the man a short distance away and he was taken into custody.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Domestic Disturbance leads to Arrests CK21047371
Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that this was not the first incident of domestic violence between the couple, even though both are currently bound by conditions not to communicate with each other.
The 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and two counts of assault.
The 35-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.
Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Industrial Accident in Tilbury CK21047270
Yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to an industrial accident in Tilbury.
A 42-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ministry of Labour was notified and has taken over the investigation.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK21047226
Sometime between Monday at 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered The Salvation Army Community and Family Services Centre on Raleigh Street and stole an iPhone.
