Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 138 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and one was on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence CK23065500
At 1:27 p.m., police began an assault investigation that occurred at an apartment on Talbot Street in Blenheim.
Officers learned on December 22, 2023, a verbal argument between the man and the woman escalated into a physical altercation.
The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located and arrested. He was charged with assault and uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 29, 2024.
Man Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant CK23065552
At 9:40 p.m., police responded to Grand Avenue East in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The man was arrested and released with a court date of January 22, 2024.
The 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man faces the following charges: unlawfully in a dwelling, theft and possession of stolen property.
Youth Arrested for Mischief CK23065566
On October 3, 2023, at 1:35 p.m., police began a mischief investigation on Delaware Avenue in Chatham. Surveillance footage showed a youth attending the residence on October 1, 2023, at 9:38 p.m. and kicking the door before running away.
Officers were able to identify the youth from a recent encounter. Officers confirmed the youth was on a curfew condition prohibiting him from being outside of his Blenheim residence between 8:00 p.m., and 6:00 a.m.,
On December 26, 2023, at 10:35 p.m., the 14-year-old Blenheim youth was arrested and charged with mischief and failing to comply with undertaking. He was released with a future court date of January 8, 2024.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK23065580
On December 27, 2023, at 12:03 a.m., police responded to the intersection of Erie Street South and Middle Line in Merlin to investigate suspicious activity.
Police were advised a man was crawling in the middle of the intersection. Officers arrived in the area and located the man. He was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 38-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held until sober. He was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for public intoxication.
