Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 161 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Obstructing Police CK24047286/CK4047280
At 10:33 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Upon initial contact the woman provided the officer with a false name. After confirming her identity, the officer discovered the woman was wanted on outstanding warrants held by Chatham-Kent Police and Windsor Police.
The 46-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and released to Windsor Police with a future court date. She is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property and obstructing the police.
Man Arrested for Arson CK24047293
At 11:33 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Taylor Avenue in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers learned the occupants discovered the front of the residence on fire and observed the man, known to them, a few feet away holding a fuel can.
Upon police arrival burn marks were observed on the residence and the man had fled the area.
Officer later located the man and arrested him. The 45-year-old Chatham man was charged with arson- endanger life and arson – damage to property. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested on an OPP Warrant CK24047331
At 4:01 p.m., police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers confirmed he was wanted on a warrant held by the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police.
The 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and turned over to the OPP.
