Break and Enter on Selton Line – CK23052337
On October 5, 2023, shortly after 5:00pm, The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a break and enter into a dwelling. Through investigation, it was determined that multiple items were taken from the residence including a battery charger, truck radio, and multiple other items.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance, and are asked to contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service should they have any information.
Obstruct/Breach of Probation – CK23052388
Shortly after 2:30am on October 6, 2023, Officers with the Chatham-Kent Police Service stopped two cyclists in Wallaceburg for having no lights on their bikes at night time. When stopped, one of the cyclists dropped the bike they were riding and began running away from officers.
After a short foot, pursuit officers were able to catch the cyclist resulting in him being placed under arrest.
A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged for obstructing a police investigation, escaping lawful custody, and breaching his probation order. Through investigation, it was also learned at the time of arrest that the male party was wanted for similar offences in other jurisdictions within Ontario. The 24-year-old male party was held pending a bail hearing.
