The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 154 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and three people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Female Arrested for Intoxicated in Public CK23058902
At 4:20 p.m., police responded to the area of Given Road and McNaughton Avenue East in the city of Chatham in response to a female walking in and out of traffic on the roadway.
Police and EMS arrived and located the female who they found to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for herself.
The 48-year-old Chatham female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. She was transported to police headquarters and held until sober.
Man Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence CK23058903
At approximately 7:37 p.m., police responded to an address in the area of Park Ave East in the city Chatham in response to a domestic dispute.
Police learned earlier that day the accused and victim were involved in an argument that quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the argument, the man refused to allow the woman to leave, blocking the door, pushing her to the floor her and choking her before she was able to get away and call police.
The 26-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with one count of Assault, Forcible Confinement and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of December 18, 2023.
Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK23058855
At 1:23 a.m., police observed a female known to them from previous occurrences in the area of Lacroix Street and Richmond Street in the city of Chatham. Officers confirmed an outstanding warrant for the female for failing to attend court concerning a Failing to Comply with Release investigation. The female was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 60-year-old Chatham female currently faces the following charges: two counts of Failing to Attend Court and one count of Failing to Comply with Release Order. The female has been held pending a bail hearing.
