Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 142 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24009662
On February 28, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., police responded to the former Monsignor Uyen Catholic School for a mischief investigation.
Upon arrival, officers learned the man, who was identified, used bolt cutters to cut and remove the chain keeping a gate secured.
On March 3, 2024, at 8:47 a.m., officers located the 30-year-old Chatham man on Partridge Crescent in Chatham and arrested him. He was charged with mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24009686
In March 2022, when the woman failed to make a scheduled court appearance a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On March 3, 2024, at 11:24 a.m., the 35-year-old Windsor woman turned herself into the police. She is currently facing the following charges: possession of a controlled substance, theft, and possession of stolen property. She was released with a new court date.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK24009690
At 12:43 p.m., police responded to a parking lot on King Street West in Chatham for a mischief investigation. It was reported a vehicle’s rear window had been smashed.
Surveillance video footage revealed the man threw a rock through the vehicles window as he walked pass. Officers identified the man and formed ground to arrest him.
Approximately two hours later, officers located and arrested him at Murray Street and William Street in Chatham.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief. He was transported to headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Public Intoxication CK24009758
At 8:41 p.m., police responded to Emma Street for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officer located the man intoxicated and yelling at random people. Officers also discovered the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Ontario Provincial Police.
The 18-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested for public intoxication and transported to police headquarters. He was released to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24009782
On April 11, 2024, when the woman failed to make a scheduled court appearance a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On March 4, 2024, at 2:08 a.m., while addressing another matter, the woman was located on Mary Street in Chatham and arrested.
The 36-year-Chatham woman currently faces the following charges: impaired driving. She was released with a new court date of March 9, 2024.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered from the Sydenham River CK24009526
On March 2, 2024, at 3:05 p.m., police responded to the boat docks on the Sydenham River at Wallace St. and Huron Street in Wallaceburg.
A boater, testing a fish finder, observed what appeared to be a vehicle on its roof in the river.
Upon viewing the image, officers called out the Ontario Provincial Police Dive Team to further investigate.
Through investigative efforts, the vehicle was found unoccupied and reported stolen from Sombra Ontario in 2010.
