The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 183 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Eight people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Theft from a Vehicle CK23010250
At 8:06 a.m., police responded to a theft from vehicle investigation on Sylvan Court in Wallaceburg.
Surveillance video captured the man entering two vehicles in the home’s driveway and removing items from each before leaving the area. The police were able to identify the man through the surveillance video.
The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man was located at 11:32 a.m., walking on Fraser Street in Wallaceburg. He was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. He was released with a future court date of April 3, 2023.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK23010264
At 9:34 a.m., police responded to a theft of a bicycle and tools from a residence on Wellington Street West in Chatham.
While on route, police received information the woman was stopped by the homeowner a short distance away. Police arrived and arrested the woman.
The 43-year-old Ridgetown woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property. She was released with a future court date of March 27, 2023, and trespassed from the victim’s address.
Man Arrested for Intoxication CK23010406
At 11:51 p.m., police responded to Oak Street in Wallaceburg to investigate suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, police located the man intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 64-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters and held until he was sober.
