Woman Arrested for Theft CK23028400
At 11:05 a.m., police responded to Orchard Heights in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Police learned the woman had taken jewelry and money from the victim. On June 1, 2023, the victim confronted the woman and retrieved the jewelry.
The 38-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.
Man Arrested for Theft CK23028488
At 6:41 p.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
Through investigation, police learned the man removed items from the shelves and left the store without paying for the merchandise. The man was located in a car in the store’s parking lot.
The 29-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.
Man Arrested for Assaulting a Police Officer CK23028513
At 10:28 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg. Information was received that the man was following the callers.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations. The man attacked the officers as they attempted to arrest him. A conducted energy weapon was deployed, and the man was taken into custody.
The man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
