Man Arrested for Assault CK24025714
At 8:48 a.m., the man attended Chatham Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a May 2024 assault investigation on Tweedsmuir Avenue West in Chatham.
The 23-year-old Windsor man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and two counts of breach of recognizance.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24025735
At 11:08 a.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations.
The 52-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a release order, unauthorized possession of a weapon, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24025749
At 1:09 p.m., police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. The man was wanted for a June 4, 2024, assault investigation. Officers confirmed the grounds for arrest and arrested the man.
The 41-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 8, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: assault causing bodily harm.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24025769
At 2:50 p.m., police responded to Campbell Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival officers learned the woman attended the address to retrieve property and engaged in a verbal argument with another woman. The argument escalated when the woman struck and bit the other, causing minor physical injury.
The 20-year-old Blenheim woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of July 8, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: assault.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24025805
At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Queens Line and Merlin Road in Tilbury East Township.
Upon arrival, officers learned the driver had been observed by a witness driving erratically on Highway 401 and exited on Queens Line. The witness also observed the vehicle in the ditch at the intersection. The driver left the scene in another vehicle. Officers located the second vehicle and identified the driver.
The officer believed the man was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. He was transported to police headquarters for tests.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was released with conditions and a future court date of June 17, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He received a 90-day license suspension.
Man and Woman Arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle CK24025833
At 9:13 p.m., police responded to suspicious activity on Scane Road in Ridgetown. A man and woman were observed arriving at the residence in a vehicle. The caller provided vehicle details, including the plate and a description of both people. The vehicle was confirmed stolen.
Officers arrived in the area and located the two people. The man provided a name that was confirmed to be false. Officers learned both were wanted on outstanding warrants by other services.
The 26-year-old Leamington man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released to the Ontario Provincial Police with conditions and a future court date of July 15, 2024. He was charged with failing to comply with a release order, possession of stolen property over $5000, and obstructing the police.
The 43-year-old Chatham Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released to the Ontario Provincial Police with conditions and a future court date of July 15, 2024. She was charged with possession of stolen property over $5000.
