The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 252 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested.
Woman Arrested for Domestic-Related Offences (CK23027768)
On June 3rd, 2023 at approximately 1:39pm police responded to a domestic dispute in the area of Harvey Street in Chatham. Through investigation, police learned that a woman had punched and kicked a man several times, thrown a flowerpot at him striking him in the chest, and also destroyed a separate planter box full of flowers by throwing it down the stairs.
Police subsequently arrested the woman for Assault x2, Assault with a Weapon, and Mischief Under $5000. The 26-year-old Chatham woman was transported to police headquarters where she was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving (CK23027896)
On June 3rd, 2023 at approximately 9:14pm police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Zone Centre Line. Upon arrival, police determined that that the male driver of a pickup had lost control of the vehicle and rolled it, causing it to strike a gas line and hydro pole. Through investigation, police formed grounds to arrest the man for Operation while Impaired.
The 42-year-old Bothwell man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where two breath samples were obtained, both registering over the legal limit. The man was additionally charged with having more than the prescribed allowable amount of alcohol in his blood (80+). He was released a short time later on an Undertaking with a future court date.
Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon (CK23027737)
On June 3rd, 2023 at approximately 11:00am police responded to a report of an assault at an address in Blenheim. Through investigation, police learned that an altercation had occurred between a man and his landlord, which culminated in the man swinging a piece of workout equipment at the victim. The 61-year-old Blenheim man was subsequently arrested by police and charged with Assault with a Weapon. He was transported to police headquarters where he was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
