Man Arrested for Assault and Impaired Driving

On 2024-06-01 the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a disturbance in Wallaceburg. A man and women were engaged in a physical altercation in the vicinity of a motor vehicle. Police arrived and located the man operating the motor vehicle, he was stopped and promptly arrested for assault.
The arresting officer formed reasonable grounds to further arrest the man for impaired driving. The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples. The results of the breath tests were in excess of the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100mL of blood. The 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was ultimately charged with Assault, Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Over 80. He was released with conditions and a court date.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

On 2024-06-01 a 34-year-old Chatham man called 911 for assistance. The caller advised he was in danger and required police. Officers arrived at his location and located the caller in a closet inside a residence. The caller had used methamphetamine and became concerned for his physical safety.
The man was identified and found to have multiple outstanding warrants with the Chatham-Kent Police. The man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing. The man’s concerns over his safety are currently under investigation.
