Woman Arrested for Theft CK23030881
At 1:25 p.m., police responded to a business on St Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation. Police received information the woman was removing items from shelves and concealing them on her person.
Police arrived and located the woman. Police confirmed she was bound by a release order not to be in the store, and she was arrested.
The 29-year-old Chatham woman was charged with theft, possessing stolen property, and failing to comply with a release order. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for intoxication CK23030910
At 3:55 p.m., police responded to a report of a man walking down the middle of Peter Street in Chatham.
Police arrived and located the man. He was intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 59-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody and held until sober.
Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon CK23030946
On May 31, 2023, police responded to an assault investigation on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned the man entered a home uninvited and used a lamp to assault the victim, which resulted in the victim being transported to the hospital by EMS. The man was bound by a release order not to possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he was not located.
On June 18, 2023, officers on general patrol located the man on West Street in Dresden.
The 36-year-old Dresden man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a release order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Assault CK23030963
At 10:29 p.m., police responded to Foster Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned the man and a woman were in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation resulting in the woman receiving physical injury. The man also made utterances to cause further harm.
The 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
