Multiple people arrested on warrants in Chatham CK23030631
Shortly before 10:30am on July 17, 2023, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received information regarding potential stolen property being brought into a house on Baxter Street in Chatham.
Officers attended the scene a short time later and through investigation found multiple stolen items in the home, as well as multiple unwanted people in the residence. 6 people were arrested as a result of possession of property obtained by crime, and warrants for their arrest.
A 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested for possessing property obtained by crime. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service to be booked, lodged, and held for a bail hearing.
A 25-year-old Chatham man was found to have a warrant out for his arrest for failing to attend court. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters to be booked, lodged, and was held for a bail hearing.
A 39-year-old Leamington man who was on the property was found to have a warrant for his arrest. Officers transported him to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters to be booked, lodged, and released with conditions and a future court date.
A 26-year-old Chatham woman found on the property had a warrant for her arrest for failing to attend court. Officers arrested the female, transported her to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was booked, lodged, and held for a bail hearing.
A 42-year-old Chatham woman who was also the subject of a warrant for her arrest was found on the property. Officers arrested her for failing to comply with her release order. The woman was released on scene with a future court date.
A 41-year-old Chatham man was also with the group of individuals inside the residence. Through investigation it was determined that he was the subject of a warrant for his arrest. Officers also arrested that male party for failing to attend court. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters to be booked, lodged, and held for a bail hearing.
Police Investigating a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision on Victoria Road CK23030659
On Saturday, June 17, 2023 around 1:00 pm, emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Victoria Road at Gosnell Line near Ridgetown. The collision involved two vehicles.
The driver, a 32-year-old Chatham woman, was driving a vehicle containing a 13-year-old passenger on Gosnell Line. The vehicle collided with another vehicle travelling northbound on Victoria Road. The driver of this vehicle, a 60-year-old Chatham woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 60-year-old passenger was seriously injured and was transported to London via air ambulance where she is listed in stable condition. The 32-year-old woman and the 13-year-old passenger both received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where they are in fair condition.
Out of respect for the family, the name of the deceased driver will not be released at this time.

Police Investigating a Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Coutts Line CK23030733
On Saturday, June 17, 2023 around 6:30 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Coutts Line. The collision involved a motorcycle with a single occupant only.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old Sombra man was travelling eastbound on Coutts Line near Baert Road when he lost control of the vehicle and stuck a ditch. Unfortunately, the driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
Out of respect for the family, the name of the motorcycle driver will not be released at this time.
