The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 179 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK23029634
On June 11, 2023, at 7:37 p.m. police responded to Moonstone Crescent in Chatham for an assault investigation and learned the woman was involved in an altercation with a man.
Through investigation, police learned the woman, on different occasions, threw a bottle at the man’s truck, causing a broken window, threw household items at him and assaulted him. The woman was contacted by phone and advised of the pending charges.
On June 12, 2023, at 10:03 a.m., the 31-year-old Staples woman turned herself into the police. She was charged with assault and two counts of mischief. She was released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK23029707
At 2:45 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Queen Street North in Tilbury.
Police attended and addressed the disturbance. Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a break and enter investigation that occurred on March 12, 2023.
The 21-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with breaking and entering and released with conditions and a future court date of July 17, 2023.
Man Arrested on a Canada-Wide Warrant CK23029757
At 8:00 p.m., police responded to a theft investigation at a business on Warwick Street in Wallaceburg.
Police located the man and confirmed he was wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant.
The 57-year-old Toronto man was arrested and transported to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23029759
At 8:23 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Middle Line in Tilbury East Township.
Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning assault charges from a 2020 investigation. The man was initially charged with assault, mischief and two counts of assault with a weapon.
The 26-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held pending a bail hearing.
