Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 183 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people was arrested and two were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24026471
At 11:01 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police notified the Chatham Kent Police Service they had a woman in custody that was wanted on a warrant held by CKPS. The woman was wanted in relation to a June 9, 2024, investigation in Wallaceburg.
The 25-year-old Walpole Island woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of July 15, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: assault causing bodily harm.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24026481
At 12:14 p.m., police responded to a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham for an assault investigation.
The woman involved had previously been banned from the business but entered anyway and refused to leave when asked by the employees. This led to a physical altercation, resulting in minor injuries to one of the employees. The woman left the scene before the police arrived but was found nearby shortly after. When the officers tried to arrest her, she attempted to flee, leading to a short pursuit on foot.
The 32-year-old Chatham Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: assault causing bodily harm, escape lawful custody, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK24026619
On June 10, 2024, at 3:10 a.m., police located the woman on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Officers recognized the woman from previous encounters and confirmed she was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
The 33-year-old Chatham Kent woman was arrested and released with a future court date June 24, 2024. She is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property and failing to attend court.
