Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 195 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Breach of Probation CK24030926
At 8:38 a.m., police located the man on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Officers confirmed the man was wanted on several outstanding warrants for breach of probation and failing to attend court in relation to a March 2023 break-and-enter investigation in Chatham.
The 36-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He faced the following charges: break-and-enter, failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to attend court.
As a result, the man was remanded into custody, and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre until his next court appearance on July 5, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court RM24002183
At 10:00 a.m., the woman attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The woman was wanted on outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a number of incidents, including a drug investigation and shoplifting investigations in Chatham.
The 33-year-old Chatham Kent woman was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. She faced the following charges: two counts of theft, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of failing to attend court and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
As a result, she was released by the court with conditions and a future court date of July 15, 2024.
Man Arrested on DNA Warrant CK24030957
At 12:19 p.m., police located the man on James Street in Wallaceburg. The man was required by the court to have his DNA collected. When the man failed to comply with this requirement, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 34-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham, where the warrant was fulfilled. The man was released.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24031034
At 7:21 p.m., police responded to a 911 hang-up call on Pine Street in Chatham. As a result, officers located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to make a court appearance in relation to bail violations.
The 28-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with a new court date of July 29, 2024.
