Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 198 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested and five were on outstanding warrants.
Youth Arrested for Assault CK24034603
On July 18, 2024, police responded to King Street in Chatham for a assault investigation.
Through investigation, police learned the female youth knowingly approached a male youth who was bound by release conditions not to associate with her. The youth began shoving and punched the young man. The incident was witnessed by independent bystanders. When the youth could not be located a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On July 23, 2024, the 15-year-old Raleigh Township youth attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in to the police. She has been charged with assault. She was released with conditions and a future court date of August 26, 2024.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24034646
At 2:33 p.m., police located the man on Pine Street in Chatham. The man was wanted on a warrant for failing to make a scheduled court appearance in regard to fraud and firearms offences.
The 41-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property, fraud under $5000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device/ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to attend court and five counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.
Man Arrested for Weapon Offences CK24034684
At 5:49 p.m., police responded to Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for an assault investigation.
Police arrived on scene and discovered the man attended the home, intoxicated and engaged in a verbal argument with another man. The argument escalated when the man assaulted the victim with a screwdriver. The victim sustained minor physical injury and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
The 61-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of September 9, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24034704
At 8:00 p.m., police responded to James Street and McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg to investigate suspicious activity.
Officers located two men and confirmed one was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to assault and mischief investigations.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, failing to attend court and two counts of failing to comply with an appearance notice.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24034725
At 10:04 p.m., police located the man on King Street East in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on a warrant in relation to a June 12, 2024, mischief investigation on Fifth Street in Chatham.
The man was also bound by conditions of a release order, including a curfew of 8:00 p.m.
The 18-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault, failing to comply with a release order, uttering threats, two counts of mischief, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
Man Arrested for Probation Violation CK24034739
On June 24, 2024, at 12:08 a.m., police responded to the CIBC on St. Clair Street in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Officers arrived and located four individuals. One of the individuals was wanted on an outstanding warrant for probation violations.
The 33-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and released with a court date. He is currently facing the following charge: failing to comply with a probation order.
