Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 140 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property CK24000057
At 7:05 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers arrived on the scene and confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant concerning a December 2023 Break-and-Enter Investigation.
The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with possession of stolen property. He was released with conditions and a future court date of February 12, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK24000061/CK24000077
At 8:02 a.m., police responded to Jeffrey Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, the police learned of a verbal argument between the woman and a man escalated when the woman struck the man with a wooden board. The man sustained minor physical injuries.
Police discovered a peace bond and probation order prohibited the woman from possessing any weapons.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m., the woman was released with conditions and a future court date. The conditions prohibited her from attending the address on Jeffrey Street and communicating with the occupant. Upon release, the woman went directly back to Jeffrey Street.
At 10:15 a.m., Officers re-attended and arrested the woman.
The 26-year-old Ingersol woman was arrested and charged with assaulting with a weapon, failing to comply with a probation order, breach of recognizance and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24000173
On December 30, 2023, police responded to a business on Herbert Street in Wallaceburg for a theft investigation.
Through investigation, officers learned surveillance video captured the man entering the business several times over the past two weeks. Each time he removed property from the location. The man was identified, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On January 1, 2024, at 9:40 p.m., the man was located on Oak Street in Wallaceburg and was arrested.
The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with adult disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence and three counts of break-and-enter. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24000183
On January 2, 2024, at 12:39 a.m., officers investigated yelling on Prospect Street and Elm Street in Tilbury.
The officer located a man and woman walking on Prospect Street. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He was arrested, and the woman was sent on her way.
The 42-year-old Tilbury man is currently facing the following charges:
• Failing to comply with a probation order.
• Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
• Driving under suspension.
• Failing to comply with a release order.
• Three counts of failing to attend court after having appeared.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
