Stolen Trailer – CK24005566
Yesterday at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers attended an address on Bear Line, Chatham in response to a call of a theft of trailer. Sometime since February 3 the black single axle utility trailer was stolen It was last seen with an Ontario licence plate W5544C.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Craig Marentette at craigm@chatham-kent.ca. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
Man arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK24005654 Officers attended a business address on Grand Avenue West, Chatham and observed a male party who was known to police. This 33-year-old Chatham man was known to have outstanding warrants for arrest. He was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, and later released from custody with a future court date.

Licence Plate Renewals.
It’s fast and it’s FREE. Your vehicle must have a valid licence plate and be insured to drive legally in Ontario. The licence plate renewal period varies depending on type of vehicle and if you choose to renew for 1 or 2 years.
Passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, motorcycle and mopeds
Owners of passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles under 3,000 kg, motorcycles and mopeds must renew licence plates every 1 or 2 years, usually before your birthday. Expired licence plates are subject to enforcement action.
If you own one of these types of vehicles, when you renew:
- you will no longer receive a sticker
- you do not have to pay licence plate renewal fees
- law enforcement will be instantly aware your licence plate was renewed
- failure to renew can result in a $110.00 charge for “Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit” under the Highway Traffic Act.
It’s the law to update your driver’s licence and vehicle permit (the green ownership document) within 6 days of a move. You can update your address online or by visiting a ServiceOntario centre.
