The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 136 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Twelve people were arrested and five on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant- CK24005144
Yesterday morning, at approximately 6:00 a.m, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service attended a business on Richmond Street in Chatham, in response to an alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed a UHaul with two females inside, one having an outstanding surety relief warrant. The Chatham woman was arrested; she was then transported to Headquarters and held for bail. The woman appeared before a judge, and was remanded into custody pending a future hearing.
Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant- CK24005189
Yesterday afternoon, at around 1:00 p.m, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a woman in the area of Albert Street who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply twice and assault. The 49-year old female was arrested on the strength of the warrant, and shortly after released with a future court date.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant- CK24005191
Yesterday afternoon, at around 1:20 p.m, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg located a man in the area of Wallace Street who was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply and impaired operation. The 44-year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant, and shortly after released with a future court date.
Man Charged with Impaired Operation- CK24005216
Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 4:20 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection Erieau Road and Middle Line. No injuries were sustained. Through investigation, a 44-year-old Chatham man was found to be operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples. The accused’s breath results were more than double the legal limit.
The accused was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. When sober, the accused was released with conditions and a future court date of February 12, 2024.
Man Arrested on Outstanding DNA Warrant- CK24005244
Yesterday evening, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police attended the area of Grand Avenue West in Chatham after someone reported a suspicious person in the area. Through investigation, police located male party who was wanted on an outstanding DNA warrant.
The 42 year-old male was arrested, DNA was obtained and he was released subsequently.
Three People Charged in Connection to a Property Crime Investigation- CK24005277
At approximately 12:06 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police attended an address in the area of Oak Road in Tilbury, as suspicious activity was reported. A suspicious vehicle and individuals with flashlights were observed. Upon police arrival, they located a UHaul loaded with property; but the suspects had fled. The drone was deployed, and police were able to locate the three suspects hiding near a retaining pond. A 26 year-old female from Blenheim, a 58 year-old Tilbury male, and 33 year-old Tilbury male were all arrested for Trespass by Night. Shortly thereafter, investigation revealed their involvement with and later on after investigation revealed, they were additionally charged with Theft and Possession Under $5,000.
All three parties were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where they were processed and released with a future court date.
