Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 132 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.

At 7:06 a.m., an officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Upon investigation, the officer discovered the passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The officer also confirmed the man was bound by a condition prohibiting him from being outside his residence between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The officer arrested the man and transported him to police headquarters.
The 46-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with failing to attend court for fingerprints and failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held pending a bail hearing.

At 11:54 a.m., police responded to Winners on St. Clair Street in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Officers learned the man exited the store but left a bag behind. The officer took carriage of the bag and discovered suspected stolen property. Officers identified the man through video surveillance and located him a short distance away.
The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to several theft investigations.
The 53-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He has been charged with four counts of theft, four counts of possessing stolen property, failing to comply with an appearance notice, failing to comply with a release order and failing to attend court. He was held pending a bail hearing.

At 8:22 p.m., police responded to a theft investigation at Mac’s Convenience on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.
Upon arrival, the officer learned the man removed items from the shelves and left without paying. The officer also confirmed the man entered into a probation order on July 6th, 2023, and was released by the courts with conditions prohibiting him from attending the store.
The officer searched the area and located the man. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
