The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 213 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Eight people were arrested, and four were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Breaching a Release Order CK23017317
At 1:38 p.m., the woman attended the front desk of Chatham-Kent Police headquarters. The woman was on a release condition to sign in each week with the officer in charge, and it was learned the woman had failed to sign in the week prior.
The 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with breaching a release order. She was released with a future court date.
Man Arrested for Mischief CK23017366
At 5:20 p.m., the victim was driving north on St. Clair Street in Chatham when they observed the man standing in the middle of the road obstructing traffic. The victim stopped to help but was met with threats. The man threw items, including a rock, at the victim’s vehicle, causing damage.
The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with mischief and uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of May 15, 2023.
Man Arrested for Assault CK23017391
At 8:30 p.m., police responded to Pine Street for an assault investigation.
Through investigation, police learned the two men verbally argued over a debt. The altercation escalated when one man struck the other man several times.
The 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to police headquarters and released on conditions and a future court date of May 15, 2023.
