Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 190 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 5 people was arrested and 3 were on outstanding warrants.
Warrants Wellington Street, Chatham CK24032797
Shortly after 1:00pm on July 13, 2024, General uniform patrol officers located a 40-year-old female from Chatham was located walking on Wellington Street. Responding officers were made aware that the female had a warrant for her arrest.
The female was placed under arrest shortly after 1:00pm, she was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where she was released with a future court date.
Failing to comply King Street East, Chatham CK24032847
On Saturday July 13, 2024, at 4:43pm, General uniform officers located a male party known to police to be on conditions not to be operating a motor vehicle driving on King Street East in Chatham, Ontario.
Responding officers were able to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the vehicle where it was confirmed that the driver was indeed on conditions not to be operating a motor vehicle.
A 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested for failing to comply with his release order (x2). The male was placed in handcuffs, and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Warrants/Drug Offences Jane Street, Thamesville. CK24032917/CK24032921
Shortly before 11:30pm, on July 13, 2024, The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a male party that appeared to be in distress. Information given to police by the caller stated that a male party was bent over while standing and was not responding to requests to help prompting the caller to contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service for assistance.
General uniformed officers responded to the call for help locating the male party on Jane Street in Thamesville.
Through investigation it was determined that the 41-year-old Thamesville male was the subject of a warrant for his arrest.
Officers arrested the male party.
Upon arrest, the male party was searched and on his person was found to have several controlled substances, individually packaged, along with other items that are used for the sale and distribution of controlled substances.
As a result of this the male party was arrested for the warrants, as well as charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking controlled substances. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
