Man Charged with being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK24000830
Yesterday at 10:50 a.m., police located a man who was intoxicated by alcohol walking on Fourth Street in Chatham. The 39-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. For his own safety, he was taken into custody as he was unable to care for himself. He was released when sober.
Man arrested for Impaired Driving CK24000928
Early this morning at 2:40 a.m., police were on general patrol in the area of Grand Avenue West in Chatham and observed a motor vehicle that failed to stop at a red light. A traffic stop was initiated, and the officer believed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 19-year-old man of Fingal, Ontario was charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. He was released with a future court date of January 22nd, 2024.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK24000930
Early this morning at 2:55 a.m., police responded to an alarm call on Grand Avenue East in Chatham after unknown suspect(s) entered a building that is under construction. Police are currently working with the owners of the building to determine the costs of the incident.
