Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 163calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Train vs Turck Base Line @ Zone Rd #1 Thamesville CK24016248
Just before 1:00 am the Chatham-Kent Police received a call for a motor vehicle vs train accident on Base Line road Thamesville. The back end of the truck had been struck by the train and pushed off to the side. A 29 year old Port Lambton man was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Chatham-Kent Police were the initial responders along with Fire and Ambulance. The drone was deployed to ensure there were no other injured parties. The CP Police attended the scene and took over the investigation. The Port Lambton man is to be charged under the Railway Safety Act
Neighbour Trouble leads to Criminal Harassment charges Cornhill St Chatham CK24016197
The police were involved a 28 year old male on three separated occasions on the same date. The man was advised to stay away from a neighbour’s address and not to harass them. The man did not listen to the warnings and was arrested for Criminal Harassment. The man was arrested released on with a future court date of May 25,2024 with conditions to stay away from the neighbour’s and their address.
Driving complaint Dufferin Ave Wallaceburg leads to Impaired / Over 80 mgs charges CK24016210
A call was received for an erratic driver that may be impaired that had left a store on Dufferin Ave In Wallaceburg. The Police attended the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. The Police attended the registered owners house and observed the vehicle pull into a laneway four houses down. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest. A 55 Year old Wallaceburg man was charged with Operation while impaired/80 plus. The man was released with a future court date of April 29,2024. The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded.
Breach of Curfew Balmoral & Baldoon, Chatham. CK24016270
A 23 year old Chatham man had been released on previous charges with a specific conditions with a curfew. The man was located On Balmoral Ave Chatham and was breaching that curfew. The man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters and held for bail.
