Constable Manuela Carmona-Morena
Originally from Medellin, Colombia I moved to Chatham as an immigrant seeking refuge with my parents, at the age of 9. I attended Our Lady of Fatima school, where my closest friendships were made and I learned English as my second language; we were welcomed with an overwhelming amount of support from the community, and Chatham became our home. This is when I quickly realized that I wanted to give back. My mission became helping individuals within our community who are fighting battles and need a helping hand. After overcoming adversity and breaking down barriers through some tough situation growing up, I strongly believe that we have to unite, come together to figure out why barriers are there in the first place & we need to start listening, seeing both sides, and uniting our communities. I have also made it a mission to inspire other girls and women around our community to be your number one fan and root for YOURSELF.
I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and soon to be husband / best friend. Travelling back home is my favourite thing to do and be reunited back with my family. I also enjoy learning about new cultures, challenging myself, and exercising is my scape.
I am proud to be a member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and serve the people of Chatham-Kent, as this is now my forever home and look forward to building a family in our community.
