My wife Val and I are both born and raised in Chatham. We love our community and have raised our family here. The word ‘family looks a little different in our home.
We have been foster parents for 20 years and have had the privilege of assisting families during some difficult times. We have parented more than fifty children together, not many couples can say that.
We also take pride in the friendships that we have developed through volunteering in the community and with our church family. I enjoy travelling, hiking, camping, boating and being known as a regular at the many restaurants in Chatham-Kent.
I have been a police officer for 16 years and have worked in the Child Abuse unit as well as the Internet Child Exploitation unit. I returned to General Uniform Patrol a couple years ago and love being able to connect with my community in a real and meaningful way.
If you happen to see me on duty you may notice a ‘stork pin’ on my uniform. I had the great privilege while on duty in July 2019 of assisting a family in delivering their newborn baby girl.
Over the last few years, I have also worked as part of the SWAC (School Within a College) program assisting adult students in earning their OSSD and college credits at the same time. It has been an honour to help people in achieving their full potential.
I would like people who are reading this to recognize that I am truly invested in our community and its members. I am proud to be a member of the Chatham Kent Police service but first and foremost, I am proud to be a member of this community.
