Chatham-Kent, Ontario: On March 1, 2024, at 7:08 a.m., The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a weapons incident on Hannibal Street in Blenheim.
Upon arrival, officers quickly assessed the situation and engaged in negotiations with a man at the residence to ensure a peaceful resolution. The incident required the deployment of specialized units and resources, including The Critical Incident Response Team, Canine Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, drones, and the Armoured Rescue Vehicle.
The officers effectively communicated with the man, ultimately taking him into custody. The investigation is on-going.
