Man and Woman Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence CK23060397/CK23060408
At 8:31 a.m., police responded to a home on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers learned a verbal argument between the man and woman escalated into a physical altercation. Officers established grounds to arrest both for assault.
The 54-year-old Chatham Township woman has been charged with assault.
The 48-year-old Chatham Township man has been charged with assault.
They were transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 8, 2023.
Woman Arrested for Arson CK23060481
At 4:22 p.m., police responded to Walmart on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg for an arson investigation.
Responding officers learned the woman had committed theft and was escorted out of the store. Once outside, the woman ignited the shrubs. The woman was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with theft, possession of stolen property, intoxicated in a public place and arson. She was held until she was sober. She was released with conditions and a future court date of December 11, 2023.
Man Arrested on a Bench Warrant CK23060534
On October 16, 2023, the man failed to appear for a scheduled court date concerning various investigations spanning from February 2023 to November 2023, including assault, breach of probation, and assaulting peace officers. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 23, 2023, at 9:38 p.m., officers located the man on Wellington Street West in Chatham and confirmed he was wanted.
The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man currently faces assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a probation order, assault with intent to resist arrest, mischief and two counts of failing to attend court. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

On May 14, 2023, at 6:13 p.m., police responded to McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, the officer learned a verbal argument between the man and a woman escalated into a physical altercation. When the woman attempted to leave, the man blocked her exit. The man also continuously attended the woman’s home and made repeated attempts to communicate with her, which was unwanted. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he could not be located.
On November 24, 2023, at 6:08 a.m., while on general patrol, an officer stopped the man on Fourth Street, near King Street, in Chatham and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The 29-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault, forcible confinement, and criminal harassment. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
