Man approached marked police cruiser with knife Chatham CK23035183
Two Police officers were in a marked cruiser doing a property check at the rear of a local business on St Clair Chatham. A man came from a different direction then the business and charged at the cruiser with a large knife in his hand. The man started to bang on the cruiser windows with the knife still in his hand. The officers were able to reverse away from the man. The man was then engaged and able to be placed under arrest. The man is currently before the courts on several charges from a different jurisdiction. The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters and held for bail.
Road rage incident leads to 80 plus charges/dangerous driving Centre Street Chatham CK23035154
A man was operating a vehicle on queen street in Chatham. The man was operating the vehicle in an erratic manner, cut off a second driver several times and striking a vehicle. This incident was witnessed by a citizen who contacted the police. With the assistance for several callers the driver was found exiting his vehicle at another address. Through investigation the driver was placed under arrest and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters. The driver was found to be twice the legal limit. He was charged with Operation while impaired 80 plus, dangerous driving and driving while under suspension. The man’s vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days. The man was released with a future court date.
IPV Assault Charges Longwoods Chatham CK23035211
A woman attended an address on Longwoods Road Chatham. A verbal confrontation took place and quickly escalated. The woman damaged property assaulted a man and then went towards the man with a knife.
The woman left the area and was located by the police at another address. During the arrest the woman resisted arrest and assaulted the police. The woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters and held for bail. The woman was charged with Mischief, assault, assault with weapon, weapons dangers, assault and resist Police.
Disturbance leads to threatening charges St Clair Street Chatham CK23035103
A man had attended a local business on St. Clair Street, Chatham. The man was refused entry into the store. At this time, he started to threaten the staff and other patrons. The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats and causing a disturbance. The man had several charges currently before the courts and was held for bail.
