Man Arrested for Uttering Threats CK23065623
On December 6, 2023, at 7:35 p.m., police responded to Sarah Crescent in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, officers formed grounds to arrest the man for uttering threats. A warrant was issued for his arrest when the man could not be located.
On December 27, 2023, at 10:20 a.m., police received information that the man was at an address on Sarah Crescent in Chatham.
Officers attended the address, located, and arrested the man.
The 40-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 29, 2024.
Man Arrested for Counterfeit Money CK23065639
On February 22, 2023, police responded to Dominos in Wallaceburg for a counterfeit money investigation.
The officer learned the man used counterfeit money twice to make purchases at the restaurant. The transaction was captured by video surveillance, and a local bank confirmed the money was counterfeit.
The officer located and arrested the man. He was released with conditions and a court date. When the man failed to make his court appearance, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On December 27, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., the officer observed the man on King Street in Wallaceburg while on general patrol.
The 36-year-old Chatham-Kent man currently faces the following charges: two counts of possessing counterfeit money and two counts of uttering counterfeit money. He was released with a new court day of January 29, 2024.
Man Arrested for Breach of Probation CK23065671
At 4:07 p.m., while on general patrol, officers stopped to speak with the man on Wellington Street West in Chatham.
The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order. After a short foot chase, the man was taken into custody.
The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of January 22, 2024.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK23065678
At 4:52 p.m., while on general patrol, officers observed a man walking on Murray Street in Chatham. The officers confirmed the man was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 53-year-old Chatham man was charged with break-and-enter, theft over $5000 and theft under $5000. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence CK23065690/CK23065696
At 6:11 p.m., police were called to a disturbance on George Street in Ridgetown.
Upon arrival, officers learned the man was visiting the victim. The two were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the man assaulted and threatened the victim. The man also broke a television in the home.
Officers located the man a short distance away and arrested him.
The 47-year-old Windsor man was charged with assault, uttering threats, and mischief. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of February 5, 2024.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK23065733
At 9:27 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of Syneview Motel for a well-being check on a man observed slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle.
Upon investigation, officers believed the man was under the influence of an intoxicating substance and arrested him for impaired driving. Upon a search incident to arrest, the man was found with suspected fentanyl and a switchblade knife. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered the man was prohibited from possessing a weapon.
The 36-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with impaired driving, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23065763
On December 28, 2023, at 1:49 a.m., police responded to the Via Rail Station on Queen Street in Chatham for a man found in the bathroom.
Officers arrived and confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning an April 2023 assault investigation in Dresden.
The 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man currently faces the following charges: assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering threats. He was released with a court date of February 5, 2024.
