UPDATE: Missing Adult CK23018948
On April 19th, 2023, the Chatham-Kent Police commenced a missing person investigation involving Daniel Marchand (45 years) of Tilbury, Ontario.
MARCHAND was reported missing on April 19th, 2023 and reported to have been last seen on April 15th, 2023. Members of the Major Crime Unit took carriage of the investigation.
On April 26th, 2023, the investigation brought officers to a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Tilbury, Ontario. MARCHAND was discovered in the residence deceased. The coroner’s office was contacted and commenced a death investigation.
On April 27th, 2023, a Post-mortem examination was completed, and the preliminary cause of death has been ruled a Homicide.
Ken BAYLIS (32 years) of Tilbury, Ontario, has been arrested and charged with 2nd-degree Murder. The accused has appeared in court and was remanded until a later date.
The Chatham-Kent Police wish to advise the public this is an isolated incident; there is no information to suggest members of the public were at risk.
