Robbery in Chatham CK23062750
Yesterday shortly after 12:00 p.m., a man entered a business on Queen Street in Chatham. The man tried to leave the business without paying for the items he had selected. Two employees attempted to stop the man, in which he assaulted them both. Luckily, no one was seriously injured.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was located by police a short distance away on St. Patrick Street in Chatham and arrested. The man was charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime and resist peace officer. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK23062821
On December 5th, 2023 the man was released from police custody with several conditions. Two of the conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Chatham woman or attend her home.
Around 7:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a call for service at the woman’s home and located the man hiding under a bed.
The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Tilbury CK230632835
Sometime yesterday evening between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a business on Canal Street East in Tilbury by prying open a locked door.
