The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 199 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eleven people were arrested, and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man and Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23046992/CK23046999
At 7:45 a.m., police attended an address on Thames Street in Chatham for a domestic dispute. Police received information a man and a woman were engaged in an argument in a unit.
Police arrived on the scene and spoke with the woman. The man was found hiding in a closet. Officers confirmed that both were bound by court-issued release orders with conditions not to associate with one another. The man was also prohibited from attending this address.
The 21-year-old Chatham man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The 18-year-old Chatham woman was charged with facilitating a breach of a release order and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
They were transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Theft CK23047015
At 7:39 a.m., police responded to a business on Richmond Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
At 5:05 a.m., the man was seen removing two boxes delivered minutes before through surveillance footage. The man was identified from previous interactions with the officer.
At 9:55 a.m., the man was located walking east on Richmond Street and arrested in possession of the stolen items. The property was returned to the owner.
The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man and Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23047094
On September 5, 2023, at 10:50 p.m., police responded to Merritt Avenue in Chatham for a domestic dispute and arrested the man for assault and resisting arrest. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of October 23, 2023. The conditions prohibited the man from attending any place the victim is known to live, work or attend school and from communicating with her.
On September 6, 2023, at 3:10 p.m., police received information the man was violating these conditions and began an investigation.
Officers investigated and located the man at the woman’s home.
The 42-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK2304717
On September 7, 2023, at 12:10 a.m., police were alerted to a vehicle with its hatch open parked on Gray Line in Tilbury East Township.
Through investigation, officers located the owner and learned he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. The man failed to attend court in relation to being charged with possession of stolen property in May 2023.
The 22-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and released with a new court date of October 16, 2023.
Motor Vehicle Collision CK23047057
On September 6, 2023, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision on Pain Court Line between Bear Line and Winterline Road in Dover Township.
A vehicle travelling west on Pain Court Line collided with a bicycle travelling in the same direction.
The cyclist sustained serious physical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The cyclist’s condition was upgraded to critical, resulting in an airlift by Ornge Air Ambulance to a Windsor hospital.
