The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 176 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK23045821
Yesterday at 1:05 p.m., police received information about a possible impaired driver in the parking lot of business in the area St. Clair Street, in the city of Chatham. Details of the vehicle and the driver were provided to the police by a concerned citizen.
Police located the vehicle and driver who was found unconscious in the vehicle.
The man was transported by ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where police and hospital staff determined the male was impaired by drug.
The 38-year-old Blenheim man was charged with Impaired Operation of Conveyance – Impaired by Drug and was later released by hospital staff and police with conditions and a future court date of September 18, 2023.
The vehicle was towed.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK22053796
On June 29th, 2022, at 10:09 a.m., the accused was charged with two counts of Assault, one count of Theft and three counts of Indecent Acts. On that date the accused was arrested and later released with a future court date of August 3, 2022
On August 3rd, 2022, the accused failed to attend his court date; subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 15th, 2023, police were contacted again regarding the same accused threatening to kill his neighbour. On that date police located the accused and arrested the male for one count of Utter Threats and one count of Mischief Under $5000.00. The accused was later released with a court date of December 19th, 2023, to address all current and previous charges.
On May 18th, 2023, the accused again failed to attend his scheduled court date.
Yesterday, on Thursday August 31st, 2023, the 45-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested by police and transported to headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Outstanding Warrants CK23045952
On March 21st, 2023, the accused was charged with Theft and released from police custody with a future court date of April 3rd, 2023.
On April 3rd, 2023, the accused failed to attend her scheduled court date and subsequently a warrant was issued for her arrest.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Friday September 1st, 2023, the 26-year-old Chatham female was arrested and transported to CKPS headquarters where she was lodged and later released to the custody of Sarnia Police for other outstanding charges.
