Chatham-Kent, Ontario – The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 167 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK23056629
On May 28, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., police responded to an assault investigation on St. George Street in Dresden.
Through investigation, officers learned the woman confronted the three victims about a property-related issue. The woman threw several items at the victims, attempted to strike one victim, threatened to harm them, and threatened one victim with a knife.
Officers attempted to locate the woman, but when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On October 30, 2023, at 10:11a.m., the 24-year-old Dresden woman was arrested on the strength of a warrant. She was charged with mischief, assault, uttering threats to harm and two counts of assault with a weapon. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of December 4, 2023.
Man Arrested for Intoxication CK23056566
At 2:44 p.m., police responded to Queen Street in Chatham to check the well-being of a man.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the man intoxicated and unable to care for himself.
The 75-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held until he was sober.
Stunt Driving
On October 31, 2023, at 4:32 a.m., while on general patrol, an officer observed a vehicle driving on St. Clair Street in Chatham at a high rate of speed.
The officer recorded the vehicle travelling 146 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone and conducted a traffic stop.
The 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with stunt driving. He was released with a Part-3 Summons to attend court. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days, and his license was suspended for 30 days.
