Chatham-Kent, Ontario – The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 169 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested, and one were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK23055816
On October 26, 2023, at 12:02 a.m., police responded to a single motor collision on Talbot Trail, between Fargo Road and Talbot Street in Harwich Township.
Upon arrival, police located the driver, believing him to be impaired by alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 33-year-old Raleigh Township man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of November 20, 2023.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK23055827
On October 25, 2023, police began investigating a third-party assault complaint in Chatham.
The officer learned the man had assaulted the woman, which resulted in minor physical injury, witnessed by the third party. The officer also discovered that the man and the woman were bound by conditions not to associate.
On October 26, 2023, at 1:16 a.m., an officer located the man at an address on Park Street in Chatham. He was transported to police headquarters.
The 36-year-old Ridgetown man was charged with failing to comply with a release order, facilitating a breach and assault. He was held pending a bail hearing.
