The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 178 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested, and one person was arrested on outstanding warrants.
Man arrested for Possession Over $5000, CK23055440
On Monday, October 23rd, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m. police located a stolen vehicle parked at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The vehicle was reported stolen earlier out of the Sarnia area and was tracked to its recovered location with a GPS tracker. Through further investigation Police observed video surveillance from Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and viewed the accused park the vehicle and walk away. Police were later able to identify the accused and locate him within the hospital.
The 33-year-old Sarnia man was arrested for one count of Possession over $5000.00, he was transported to Police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
Family dispute leads to arrest, CK23055457/CK23055467
On Monday October 23rd, 2023, Police were dispatched to the area of Richmond Street, Chatham regarding a family dispute between a father and son. While investigating police found the father to be intoxicated by alcohol and unable to care for himself.
The 67-year-old Chatham man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and lodged into police custody until sober.
Man arrested on Warrants, CK23055358.
On Monday October 23rd, 2023, at approximately 10:30 A.M., police observed a male party driving a small offroad type motorbike on the roadway on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. A stop was conducted and through investigation police learned the male was currently prohibited drive and wanted on outstanding warrants.
The 40-year-old Wallaceburg man was cautioned and arrested for outstanding warrants, he was then transferred to police headquarters where he was later released with a future court date.
