Chatham-Kent, Ontario – The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 153 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Breach of Probation CK23054368
At 7:10 a.m., police responded to 100 King Street in Chatham for a man bothering patriots.
Police arrived on the scene and located the man. Police confirmed he was bound by a probation order not to attend this address. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman Arrested for Robbery CK23054408
At 11:27 a.m., police responded to 229 St Clair Street in Chatham for a robbery investigation.
Through investigation, officers learned the woman entered the store and was suspected of theft. When she was asked to leave for this reason, she demanded money. When the employee refused, the woman walked behind the counter and demanded money again. When the employee refused again, she backed them against a wall and assaulted them. The woman left the store but was located by police.
The 44-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with robbery and transported to police headquarters. She was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK23054509
At 11:24 p.m., police responded to a home on Thames Street in Chatham for a man banging on a woman’s door. Police learned the man had been released on August 14th, 2023, with a condition prohibiting him from attending the address.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the man outside the residence. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
The 31-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held pending a bail hearing.
