Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 169 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man and Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23057662
On February 5, 2021, the woman was released by the court with conditions, including not to associate with the man and not to possess drug paraphernalia.
On October 24, 2023, the man was released by the court with conditions, including not to associate with the woman.
On November 6, 2023, at 7:29 a.m., officers observed the woman and the man in a vehicle together. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested both the man and the woman. Upon a search incident to arrest, the woman was found in possession of suspected Oxycotin and drug paraphernalia.
The 39-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with driving while under suspension, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The 38-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Both were transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Unlawful in a Dwelling CK23057684
At 8:51 a.m., police responded to Talbot St East in Blenheim.
Officers arrived on the scene and learned the individuals had woken up to their neighbour in their home. The man left upon being discovered. Officers located the man and he was arrested.
The 54-year-old Blenheim man was charged with being unlawful in a dwelling. He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of December 11, 2023.
Woman Arrested for Bail Violations CK23057751
On September 18, 2023, the woman was released by the court with conditions to remain in her residence with specific exceptions.
On November 6, 2023, police received information the woman was not complying with this condition and began an investigation. At 3:29 p.m., officers located the woman on Riverview Drive in Chatham and confirmed the bail violation.
The 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with failing to comply with a release order and held pending a bail hearing.
