Chatham-Kent, Ontario – The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 121 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested, and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Theft CK23057030
At 9:15 a.m., while on general patrol, an officer stopped a man known to them from previous encounters on Fifth Street near King Street in Chatham. The officers confirmed the man was wanted on outstanding warrants, and the man was arrested.
The 46-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to attend court, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of theft, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23057037
On June 2, 2023, the man was arrested and charged with mischief after he broke a window at a residence on Merici Way in Chatham. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
When the man failed to attend court to face this charge, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 2, 2023, officers located the man on Colborne Street in Chatham, and he was arrested.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Drug Offences CK23057065
At 2:28 p.m., police responded to Merritt Avenue in Chatham after receiving information on the man’s whereabouts. The man was wanted on multiple warrants.
Officers attended the area and located the man. The man attempted to evade police on foot but was quickly taken into custody. Upon a search incident to arrest, suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were found on his person.
The 38-year-old Harwich Township man was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance in addition to his previous charges related to failing to comply with release orders. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
