Chatham-Kent: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 143 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK23050177
On June 3, 2023, officers responded to McCreary Line and arrested the man for being in possession of a stolen tractor. He was released with conditions and a court date.
On October 4, 2023, the man failed to attend a scheduled court appearance and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 21, 2023, at 3:17 p.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.
The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with possessing stolen property and failing to attend court. He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property CK23060215
On July 17, 2023, while on general patrol on Lacroix Street in Chatham, an officer received a stolen vehicle alert through the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR). The flagged vehicle was parked in a parking lot.
Through investigation, the officer determined the plate affixed to the vehicle was reported stolen from Mount Brydges. The man was arrested, and a summons was issued with a court date.
On October 26, 2023, when the man failed to attend court, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 21, 2023, at 8:31 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police arrested the man on the Oil Springs Line in Oil Springs and turned him over to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.
The 40-year-old Glencoe man has been charged with possessing stolen property and using plates not authorized for the vehicle. He was released with a future court date.
Woman Arrested for Assault CK23060228
At 11:07 p.m., police responded to Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.
Police learned two women were verballing arguing when the conflict escalated. The victim attempted to disengage by closing herself into a separate room. The woman pushed her way into the room and assaulted the victim. The woman was located and arrested.
The 23-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with assault. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of December 11, 2023.
