Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 172 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested and four were on outstanding warrants.
Men Arrested on Warrants Held by Other Services CK24022742/ CK24022744
On May 19, 2024, the men were arrested in a theft investigation (CK24022628). As a result of a bail hearing, the men were released by the court with conditions and a future court date.
The 23-year-old Chatham man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant by York Regional Police Service. Upon release by the court the man was turned over to York Regional Police Service.
The 26-year-old Chatham man was wanted on an outstanding warrant by London Regional Police. Upon release by the court the man was turned over to London Police Service.
Man Arrested on Warrant Held by London Police CK24022749
At 3:09 p.m., the man as located behind the Shopping area on St. Clair Street in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by London Police Service and arrested him.
The 44-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters and turned over to London Police Service.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24022832
At 11:38 p.m., police responded to Murray Street in Chatham for a theft investigation. Officers attended and located the woman.
The 49-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property, failing to attend court, obstructing police, impaired driving, assault, driving while suspended and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24022850
On May 21, 2024, at 2:14 p.m., the man stopped an officer at the intersection of Wellington Street and Fifth Street in Chatham. The was lost and seeking directions to Windsor.
Through conversation with the man, the officer believed the man was under the influence of alcohol and administered a roadside sobriety test. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further tests.
The 59-year-old Belle River man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of June 3, 2024.
